Wing Chun Warrior

Wing Chun Warrior: The True Tales of Wing Chun Kung Fu Master Duncan Leung, Bruce Lee's Fighting Companion

Availible On Amazon RRP: £9.99
Price: Unknown

This book by contains some great stories of the life of Ip Man as told by his student Duncan Leung. The illustrations make a fantastic addition to the book and its stories. However rather than focusing on the stories and ideas the book often goes on about deep meanings that are just not there. What really spoiles the book, are the occasional, not very subtle, personal attacks on other well respected Wing Chun masters. In short, it's worth a read if availible but it is not worth recommending.

The Ving Tsun Bible

The Ving Tsun Bible by Ip Ching

Limited Edition, no longer in print
RRP: £90
Price: unknown

The Ving Tsun Bible by Ip Ching is made up of 4 thin books covering the Wing Chun system. Three of the books are written in Chinese and one book - the green one is a translation. Whilst these limited edition books are very expensive and hard to find they are more a collectors item than a useful book to learn from. The English book esentially just lists the techniques in order in the 6 forms of Wing Chun. The whole book is ~42 pages several are full page images. The book is useful as a referance if you forget the order of say the knife or dummy form but if you don't already know the form the book is of little value as it uses cantonese terms like Fan-Sau-Cup-Dao meaning you need to really know the movement (downwards cut with the knife in reverse grip) if the book is to be useful.
